Daryl McLaren - Medical Director Emergency Services
Dr. Daryl McLaren was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He became interested in medicine after taking an EMT-Basic course, which launched his career in emergency medicine. He started working as an EMT at Alta at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, a great place to ski and learn about caring for patients. Earning an undergraduate degree in English while studying pre-med, he graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine and trained for another three years in emergency medicine at Allegheny General Hospital, a level I trauma center on the north shore of Pittsburgh. After completing his training and becoming board-certified, Dr. McLaren focused on rural Emergency Medicine, working in Evanston, Wyoming during the COVID pandemic. He’s worked in Utah, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Alaska providing rural emergency medical care throughout his career. Being from the west, Dr. McLaren enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and being outdoors. In his free time, he spends time writing books, music, and enjoying family. He met his wife, Helen, while training alongside her in Pittsburgh. They share two daughters and call Salt Lake City, Utah home. He is excited to be joining the team at Sublette Center in Pinedale, Wyoming, furthering his career in providing emergency medical care in rural communities.
