Sublette County Hospital District Emergency Medical Services (Sublette EMS) operates two, 24/7 ambulance stations in both Pinedale and Marbleton. The EMS Department is comprised of 17 full-time and 11 part-time emergency team members consisting of basic, advanced and paramedic skill levels which gives Sublette EMS its ability to provide quality, out-of-hospital emergency care. Staff is trained in the latest cardiac care including 12-lead ECG recognition, stroke and trauma critical care. Sublette EMS has six ambulances to respond to 9-1-1 service calls and to transport patients.
Duty to Act
Due to liability issues, Sublette EMS can only provide service when activated by a 9-1-1 emergency call. This emergency call activates their "Duty To Act". When a 9-1-1 emergency is activated, Sublette EMS will respond to calls in an expeditious, safe manner; perform a thorough assessment of both the patient and the situation; provide the appropriate treatment; and transport to a receiving facility when transport is warranted. When an ambulance is not needed for a medical concern, please call your preferred clinic to speak to a provider regarding your non emergency or urgent situation.
Cooperation with other Emergency Services
Sublette County EMS works very closely with the Sublette County Sheriff's office and the 9-1-1 Communications Center, Tip Top Search and Rescue, Sublette County Emergency Management, and all fire/rescue services in our county. In order to provide the best possible care to our residents, cooperative training and procedures, along with coordinated co-response to many critical emergencies, is a fact of life for rural EMS in Sublette County.
Community Outreach and Emergency Education
Emergency Medical Responder and Emergency Medical Technician Basic courses are offered routinely at the Pinedale Station.
Amy Specht NRP - EMS Director
Amy Specht, NRP serves as the Operations Director for Sublette County EMS. She brings more than 16 years of emergency medical services experience, having worked in Kansas, Missouri, and Wyoming since beginning her EMS career in 2009. Amy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Athletic Training and an Associate Degree earned through paramedic education.
In addition to overseeing EMS operations, Amy is actively involved in community-based healthcare initiatives. As a member of the Community Integrated Health team, she works to support elderly residents through medication assistance, appointment coordination, and other healthcare needs. She is also involved in the development of the Transitional Care Program, which helps patients successfully transition home following hospitalization by assisting with follow-up care, medication understanding, and navigating discharge instructions.
Amy and her family have called the community home since 2020 and are proud to be part of the area they serve. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and can often be found hiking, biking, kayaking, and exploring the outdoors. While she appreciates Wyoming winters, she is still working up the courage to return to skiing after more than two decades away from the sport.
Amy is passionate about serving the community and is committed to advancing high-quality emergency medical services while supporting the health and well-being of local residents, visitors, and EMS staff.
